Ricky T - Rahhh
The 2014 chant for
Saint Lucia Carnival is here. Repeat after me “Rahhh” and again “Rahhh”. Delivered
by the King of Saint Lucia Soca, Stratosphere Muzic artiste Ricky T, Rahhh is
featured on the Dutch Productions/Stratosphere Muzic Mad People Riddim. Mixed
and mastered by Courtney “Curty” Louis, Rahhh is written by the award winning
songwriter and producer, Saveion Georges and Ricky Joseph. The Mad People
Riddim is produced by Courtney “Curty” Louis and Yannick Plante.
Make no bones about
it, this is a road song, “when we done with the road this year/it ah go mash up
beyond repair” that can also be transferred to the stage, “we have the people
amaze/we come to mash up the stage/we doh really care what nobody say/cuz this
year we come to misbehave.”
With lyrics designed
to give you a clear picture of what it’s like to revel in Saint Lucia Carnival,
Rahhh also rides a Riddim whose beat is an infusion of clashing instrumentals
designed to make everything tremble as directed here by Ricky T, “hold de truck
and tremble/show them you still stable/climb the traffic light up and down/and
show them how we does revel.”
The early release
therefore will facilitate learning the chant. Repeat after me one more time,

Sean Caruth - Bumper Inspector
This Trini man really
taking his job serious is what “Bumper Inspector” from Sean Caruth will have
you thinking all the while you are amazed by the criteria he has to fulfill in
his job. In 2006 a then unknown Courtney “Curty” Louis produced “Baby Girl” for
Caruth. The song would take him all the way to the International Groovy Soca
Monarch final – a first for Louis and Saint Lucia.
The two have now come
full circle, working together on “Bumper Inspector” which is featured on the
Dutch Productions/Stratosphere Muzic Truck Horn Riddim. Caruth is still based
in Trinidad but spent time in Saint Lucia trying to recapture the magic he
found with Louis way back when. Judging from this end result, time has not
changed the ability of both men to make good soca music.
“Bumper Inspector” is
written by Caruth and produced by now award winning songwriter and producer
Courtney “Curty” Louis and Yannick “Fresh Prince” Plante and is released for
Saint Lucia Carnival 2014 and Trinidad Carnival 2015.
Jay Budz - Trouble Makers
Madhouse crew
represent! Stratosphere Muzic artiste Jay Budz has “come to show them what is
bacchanal” on “Trouble Makers” and needs you all to fall in line. Featured on
the Dutch Productions/Stratosphere Muzic Mad People Riddim, “Trouble Maker” is
a promise delivered. A multi-talented singer and songwriter from Soufriere, Jay
Budz is also a lead vocalist. This combination makes him a devastating triple
threat capable of not only delivering in the studio but on the stage as well.
Buoyed by years of
promise he appears ready to take Saint Lucia and this 2014 Carnival season by
storm throwing everything but the proverbial kitchen sink as it were with
“Trouble Makers”, which he wrote. The song is produced by award winning

“Get On (Boot De F@#king Wall)”. Written by Kwency Griffith and award winning
songwriter and producer Courtney “Curty” Louis, the song is produced by Louis

Monarch wants all to “follow instructions now and put everything in the air/I

The song showcases the talent and versatility of Qpid who has become a household name and fan favorite in Saint Lucia`s Music Industry of the past decade.
Balanga is an attractive gyrating movement done by women and was developed by Qpid during a 2014 carnival workout.
Qpid explains the song is the start of many great things to come for the 2014 carnival season and beyond.
“Balanga is really a fun song intended to get people ready for the carnival season which is poised to be a great one. I am optimistic the song will become a big favorite especially among the women, so I encourage people to request the song and warm up to Saint Lucia carnival with Balanga, also be sure to provide me with feedback. I would also like to assure my supporters and carnival lovers that there are lots more great songs coming from me this year” unquote.
Balanga is featured on the popular “Rolly Polly” riddim alongside Grenada`s Hollice “Mr Killa” Mapp and other great artistes.
Qpid has been working extremely hard from last year in reparation for the upcoming season and she will participate in all forms of competition again this year.
She recently signed an alliance with the Toxik Nation carnival band which is providing her with marketing, logistics and other forms of support.
2014 marks Qpid`s tenth anniversary as a soca artiste.
